As of 8/30/2025, these are all the default web actions included in the iOS version of Apple’s Shortcuts.
I did my best to adjust descriptions for better uniformity, so most of these will read differently in Shortcuts itself.
Main
- Search Web: Searches the web for the input text.
- Open URLs: Opens input URLs in Default Browser.
- Find Giphy GIFs: Searches Giphy for GIFs using the input text.
Safari
- Show Web View: Displays the input URL in a Safari View Controller.
- This allows you to view web pages without switching apps.
- Add to Reading List: Adds input URLs to your reading list.
RSS
- Get Items from RSS Feed: Downloads the latest items from an RSS feed.
- Get RSS Feeds from Page: Extracts any RSS feed URLs from the input web URLs or web page.
Articles
- Filter Articles: Returns the articles that match the given criteria, from an input list of articles.
- Get Details of Article: Gets a specific piece of information from the input articles.
- Get Article using Safari Reader: Gets article details, including body text, author, publish date, and more, from the input URLs.
URLs
- URL: Returns the input URL.
- Get URLs from Input: Returns any URLs in the input.
- Expand URL: Expands and cleans up URLs which have been shortened.
- Get Component of URL: Gets the specified part of the input URL.
Web Requests
- Get Contents of URL: Gets the contents of input URLs.
- Useful for downloading files and web content, or for making API requests.
- Get Headers of URL: Returns the HTTP headers of the input URL using a HEAD request.
Web Pages
- Get Contents of Web Page: Extracts the contents of the input safari web pages.
- Get Details of Safari Web Page: Gets a specific piece of information from input Safari web pages.
- Run JavaScript on Web Page: Runs JavaScript on the input Safari web page.
Conclusion
You can view all of this yourself directly in shortcuts, by tapping on the information icon on the right end of each action in the gallery, or by tapping the icon on the left end of each action, and selecting Show Info from the menu that pops up.
